1. Go to the Target Card Website

• Open your browser and visit: https://www.target.com/circlecard

• Click “Apply Now” or “Sign Up”
  (Note: This is only for U.S. applicants — you must have a U.S. bank checking account to link to the card.)

2. Choose “Target Circle Debit Card”
When asked what type of card you want:

• Select: “Target Circle Debit Card”

• This is not a credit card — it withdraws money directly from your checking account when you make purchases.

3. Fill Out Your Personal Information
You will need to provide:

• Full Name

• Email Address

• Phone Number

• Home Address

• Social Security Number (SSN)

• Date of Birth

This information is used to verify your identity — no charges will be made to your account at this stage.

4. Add Your Bank Account Information

Now you’ll connect your bank account so the card can withdraw funds when you make purchases. There are two ways to do this:

A. Instant Verification (Fastest, if available)
If your bank is supported:

• Select your bank from the list

• Enter your bank login username and password

• The system verifies your account instantly

• Done — your account is linked

B. Micro-Deposit Verification (Extra secure method)
If instant verification is not available:

1. Enter your bank routing number and account number

   • Routing number = the 9-digit number at the bottom of your check

   • Account number = your personal bank account number

2. Target (via the payment processor) will send two small deposits to your bank account

3. Check your bank account after one or two business days

4. Note the amounts (for example, $0.10 or $0.22)

5. Return to your Target application and enter those amounts to confirm ownership

(Note: This method is similar to how Venmo or PayPal verify your bank account.)

Your bank account is now securely linked.

5. Agree to the Terms & Submit
You will be presented with:

• The Cardholder Agreement

• The Privacy Policy

• Authorization for Target to withdraw funds from your account

Review the information and submit your application.

6. Get Approved

If your application is approved:

• You’ll see a confirmation message on-screen

• You may receive a digital version of your card instantly, which you can use online before the physical card arrives

• Your physical Target Circle Debit Card will arrive in the mail within approximately 7–10 business days

Using the Card & How It Works

In-Store:

1. Shop at Target as usual.

2. At checkout, let the cashier know you’re paying with your Target Circle Debit Card.

3. They will either scan the card or ask you to enter your PIN.

4. The funds are then withdrawn directly from your linked bank account.

5. You’ll still earn Target Circle rewards and any applicable discounts.

Online (Target.com):

• Add items to your cart

• At checkout, select Target Circle Debit Card as your payment method

• Enter your card details

• You’ll still receive 5% off and free 2-day shipping on eligible items

• The funds are pulled directly from your bank account
